I am French on my dad's side and Indian on mum's. My dad was a French man and had come from France and settled down in Pondicherry-India as a Hotelier. I am not sure of the story behind as to why he chose India.
My parents met through the 80's version of a dating app - Newspaper. They preferred something simple yet elegant and memorable Temple wedding.
Being from a mixed blood background is such a Blessing. I love my background and I am very proud of my mixed ethnicity. The best part of being a mixed background is you get a look at people's confused expressions when you explain your origin.
I actually like to let people guess my origins. I tell them I am part French and I ask them to guess the other part. Hahaha I got North Indian, Malayaali, Brahmin, some foreigner from different part of the world ...It is funny how people minds work. Upon telling someone I am mixed race, they exclaim '' Oh that's so cool Halfies are so attractive or the weird look ''What are you !?''
But I got to admit that I am very much Indian at heart.
